Venture outside the busy city centre and into Hampstead village, where we will visit historic pubs frequented by famous patrons and enjoy the picturesque, countryside-like scenery.
While the city centre is bustling with famous pubs and notable figures, Hampstead offers a unique blend of modern and historical charm. Enjoy a touch of ‘countryside’ views at Hampstead Heath, not too far from the city.
As we explore, you’ll learn about some of Hampstead’s most well-known residents and visitors who have frequented its storied pubs, from Ricky Gervais and Ringo Starr to Judi Dench, Emma Thompson, Helena Bonham Carter, Ridley Scott, George Michael, and even Charles Dickens, who was a regular at The Holly Bush.
Our walk to The Spaniards Inn, one of London’s oldest pubs, takes us through woodland paths, scenic ponds, and past a grand stately home. Along the way, we’ll uncover tales of infamous highwaymen like Dick Turpin and consider the lingering question: is the pub truly haunted?
